Why a Charter Bus Can Make Life Easier

Last year I decided I was going to organize a family reunion. I knew it was going to be rough, since with a big family, some family members may not want to come and some family members may be busy. Nevertheless, I was set on bringing my entire family together for a big celebration! I knew it would be hard to get everyone to come on their own dime, so I knew I would have to arrange certain travel aspects of this vacation. We decided to go to a ranch in Northern Wisconsin for the week; they offer fun things like an outdoor breakfast every morning, horse rides and even a rodeo. We came to the decision to let everyone worry about getting to Wisconsin, since that’s where my grandma lives, and then rely on a bus charter to bring us to the ranch.

After a year-long wait, it was finally time! Last week we went on my planned family reunion to a ranch in Wisconsin!

Getting to Wisconsin was no easy task, since some of my family lives on the east coast and some on the west coast. It took about a week for everyone to show up and meet at my grandma’s house. We had everyone stay in a hotel for the first day and we all went to dinner the night before the big charter bus was to take us north to the ranch. I actually chartered the bus to take us to and from the restaurant and everyone’s hotel. It was pretty simple and hassle-free, which turned out to be the only portion of the trip that was not a hassle. During dinner, we discussed my plans for the reunion and I passed around the itinerary. I was ready for everyone to give me their two-cents and why and how this plan was no good. Surprisingly, no one really had much to say, which was great! It seemed like everyone was looking forward to the trip and reunion.

The next morning the charter bus picked us up on time and took us to the ranch. It took about 3 hours to get all the way up to Northern Wisconsin where the ranch was located. Once we got there, the ranch employees were already waiting for us to arrive and helped us unload our luggage from the charter bus. The bus driver knew he was supposed to return to pick us all up in one week and parted ways. After we unloaded everything, we were all assigned a cottage in which our immediate family was to stay for the week. Of course some of my little nephews and nieces wanted to stay with each other instead of their families, but it didn’t create too big of a problem. Once everyone got situated, we met the ranch counselors to go over the week’s plans and activities. We were given the ranch rules and a list of numbers to call in certain situations. I thought to myself, this is going to be a fun week!

The week went by too fast, but I think everyone had a really nice time! Soon enough, the charter bus was there to pick us all up and take us back to where we came from. It was super easy to rent a bus and it was really nice not having to worry about when and where everyone would arrive because we were all in the same place! Next time I do anything for a large group I am definitely repeating my decisions!

Marriage, MiniBus Rental and Dinner!

Hey Guys,

Recently I celebrated a great day not only in my own life, but my family's as well. My sister got married! She had been dating her hubby for quite some time and he finally proposed last year. Due to the current economic climate, they decided to wait a year to save the right amount of money for their celebration and their honeymoon. I am so proud of both of them as they are perfect for each other! He works downtown, he tried to explain to me what he does many times, but I am in no way computer-savvy so it goes way over my head! Either way, we used to hang out a lot before they started getting serious so I have a really good relationship with her new husband.

They were married in the prettiest church here it Pittsburgh, St. Mary of the Mount. The church was packed but they accommodated our families very well. The ceremony was simply beautiful and yes, I cried! It lasted a bit long but I love weddings so I didn't mind. Her new husband cried when he was reading his vows, it was so sweet! The reception is where it got crazy. From the Church, we had a minibus rental take us to one of Muer Seafood Restaurants for the reception. I'll tell you, the ride over was intense! I can only imagine what happened in the private limo, ha! I must say, the minibus was a great way to get from the Church to the reception. The driver was pretty funny, he told some great marriage jokes for us! He made sure we had everything we needed, which seemed above and beyond what he was there to do! Because of the minibus ride, I actually had a great conversation with one of the other bridesmaids and one of the groomsmen, don't ask!

The food was great, especially the shrimp. Lucky for me and the rest of the family no cost was spared. We ate and drank like kings that day! I really hope someone else gets married soon, like I mentioned, I love weddings! I have nothing to report on their honeymoon, which I assume is a good thing. They went to the Caribbean for their honeymoon, I'm jealous! Ironically enough, my company is taking us on an outing and guess what, they hired another minibus rental company! I'm excited about that because the experience with the minibus rental was great, so I assume it will be better with people I know from work!

Until next time, happy traveling!

Limo Services

This year was a milestone in my daughter’s life.  She was finally going to get married to the man of her dreams.  After months and months of planning and tears and anger from all members of the family everything was figured out. Except one of the most important things: the transportation.  We had to figure out how to transport 25 people from our house to the church and then again to the reception.  After scouring the Internet for ideas we finally landed on several limos.

While talking to one of the companies they explained that to keep my beautiful daughter and the rest of our family safe on this special day that we should probably buy limousine insurance.  Being the father that I am, pretty much clueless, I was unaware that there was even such a thing.  So after hours of hunting the internet and calling around I finally figured out the ins and outs.

I’m putting up this helpful guide in order to help the rest of the clueless patrons out there stay safe on their special days.

The most important thing that you need to know before buying limo insurance is that most states across the nation require limos to have liability insurance.  This type of insurance protects the drivers and owners of the limos against damage to people or property.  There are two types of liability insurance: combined single limit or split limit.

Basically combined single limit covers property and bodily injury.  Split limit covers a certain limit of injury and limits how much the insurance will pay out.
The next piece of the puzzle is uninsured or under insured coverage.  In laymen’s terms this means if your limo is struck by someone who is uninsured or cannot afford the damage coverage the limo company will take care of the balance.

Finally there is full coverage or collision and comprehensive insurance.  Most companies carry this type of insurance because limos are expensive to run and maintain.  This insurance covers anything from crashes, bodily harm to any other mistake that may have been made on your special day.

From now on my rule of thumb is to ask the company what kind of insurance they have.  I want to make sure that nothing goes wrong with my special day and I’m sure you will too. Overall the wedding and the rides went off without a hitch.  You’ll be happy to know that my little girl is married and safely riding off the airport for her honeymoon.

Why Choose a Charter Bus?

A long distance trip on a charter bus can be uncomfortable and time consuming. But, what if a charter bus company could offer comfortable seating, a smooth ride, friendly drivers, and full facilities?  Sounds like the perfect situation for going to visit grandma or a business trip.

The most efficient way to travel long distances in a large group is on a charter bus.  Each charter bus experience is customized to fit your group, whether your group is taking a business trip to an important convention or your entire family has gathered for a meet up, they know exactly how to serve you for the perfect trip.  They will listen to you and your ideas and combine them with the best practices to create a trip of a lifetime for your group.

One of the main objectives is to get to know each and every person that plants themselves in a seat.  On a regular bus you may get placed next to someone you dislike or have no desire to sit with.  That is why charter buses take the time to make sure that they can create a perfect match between you and your neighbor.  Most are more than willing to move patrons to different seats so that everyone can get the most out of their experience.  Maybe dear Aunt Maude keeps telling you about her days as a Canadian police officer and you just want to sleep. It’s okay! Completely understandable. Just move over next to Uncle Bill and drift into a comfortable, perfect sleep.

Long business trips can be tedious and dull.  But, they are also a great time for members of your company to bond and make life long friendships.  Placing your employees in “activity” groups allows them to bond, make new friends, and network with other departments.  Large companies and associations will benefit greatly from the time spent together on charter buses.

Most charters come equipped with microphones and surround sound.  Whether it is a trip with your family, business associates, or friends these microphones come in handy.  Bring along trivia questions, whether it’s work related or just a fun competition, to test the knowledge of your fellow bus mates.  The speaker system allows for a fun game of trivia or maybe even send someone up to belt out some karaoke.

Are your kids complaining about the long bus ride?  People have created many fun games that can be played on the road. Pit them against their seat partners to see who can come up with the most answers before their trip is over.   From iSpy to find the state plates, most charters are dedicated to keeping your youngsters out of trouble, happy and having fun.

Taking a charter bus is a stress-free, no hassle way to travel.  Play games; make new friends, or just sleep.  Whatever you are looking for in your charter bus experience, it’s out there.

Memorable Group Tour: Charter Bus Service

Planning a group tour or vacation including your extended family? If you’re looking to have an affordable, enjoyable, and comfortable trip, try using personal charter bus services. With a charter bus rental, you can schedule your own stops and get the most out of your trip. You are free to be with your group in a more intimate setting while having the luxury of controlling every aspect of the trip.

If traveling in a large group going on tour or on vacation, a charter bus is the perfect way to get you from one destination to the next. Buses have the capability to take you and your group anywhere in the country, literally. Buses hold up to 100 passengers; if you’ve got a group larger than that you may have to look into booking two buses, which means double the fun! Prices vary based on how far your group is traveling, unfortunately, the farther you go the higher the prices. What I’ve found, ironically, organizing a group tour will be less expensive than traveling solo.

Are you sick of traveling in confined uncomfortable spaces? Airplanes make me claustrophobic and I can’t stand breathing in stale air for multiple hours! Charter buses are built to provide passengers a comfortable travel space on their long distance journeys and have windows you can open! Each bus is equipped with televisions and DVD recorders to provide entertainment to travelers and allowing them to listen to music or watch movies if they please. Worried about pit stops? No need, lavatories are available on each bus. Do you tend to over-pack? Also not a problem with charter bus services, there is a very large luggage compartment to fit everything you’ve packed and more.

No matter what the reason for your trip; business, church, school, etc, a bus service can accommodate to your needs. Some tours have been pre-arranged to certain cities which is an added benefit if your group is interested in seeing multiple attractions and making the most of your journey. No matter what the reasoning for your tour, we stop where you stop and wait for you before continuing on to the next destination. Leaving your group with some unforgettable memories is our primary goal when traveling with charter bus.
