Why a Charter Bus Can Make Life Easier

Last year I decided I was going to organize a family reunion. I knew it was going to be rough, since with a big family, some family members may not want to come and some family members may be busy. Nevertheless, I was set on bringing my entire family together for a big celebration! I knew it would be hard to get everyone to come on their own dime, so I knew I would have to arrange certain travel aspects of this vacation. We decided to go to a ranch in Northern Wisconsin for the week; they offer fun things like an outdoor breakfast every morning, horse rides and even a rodeo. We came to the decision to let everyone worry about getting to Wisconsin, since that’s where my grandma lives, and then rely on a bus charter to bring us to the ranch.

After a year-long wait, it was finally time! Last week we went on my planned family reunion to a ranch in Wisconsin!

Getting to Wisconsin was no easy task, since some of my family lives on the east coast and some on the west coast. It took about a week for everyone to show up and meet at my grandma’s house. We had everyone stay in a hotel for the first day and we all went to dinner the night before the big charter bus was to take us north to the ranch. I actually chartered the bus to take us to and from the restaurant and everyone’s hotel. It was pretty simple and hassle-free, which turned out to be the only portion of the trip that was not a hassle. During dinner, we discussed my plans for the reunion and I passed around the itinerary. I was ready for everyone to give me their two-cents and why and how this plan was no good. Surprisingly, no one really had much to say, which was great! It seemed like everyone was looking forward to the trip and reunion.

The next morning the charter bus picked us up on time and took us to the ranch. It took about 3 hours to get all the way up to Northern Wisconsin where the ranch was located. Once we got there, the ranch employees were already waiting for us to arrive and helped us unload our luggage from the charter bus. The bus driver knew he was supposed to return to pick us all up in one week and parted ways. After we unloaded everything, we were all assigned a cottage in which our immediate family was to stay for the week. Of course some of my little nephews and nieces wanted to stay with each other instead of their families, but it didn’t create too big of a problem. Once everyone got situated, we met the ranch counselors to go over the week’s plans and activities. We were given the ranch rules and a list of numbers to call in certain situations. I thought to myself, this is going to be a fun week!

The week went by too fast, but I think everyone had a really nice time! Soon enough, the charter bus was there to pick us all up and take us back to where we came from. It was super easy to rent a bus and it was really nice not having to worry about when and where everyone would arrive because we were all in the same place! Next time I do anything for a large group I am definitely repeating my decisions!

Marriage, MiniBus Rental and Dinner!

Hey Guys,

Recently I celebrated a great day not only in my own life, but my family's as well. My sister got married! She had been dating her hubby for quite some time and he finally proposed last year. Due to the current economic climate, they decided to wait a year to save the right amount of money for their celebration and their honeymoon. I am so proud of both of them as they are perfect for each other! He works downtown, he tried to explain to me what he does many times, but I am in no way computer-savvy so it goes way over my head! Either way, we used to hang out a lot before they started getting serious so I have a really good relationship with her new husband.

They were married in the prettiest church here it Pittsburgh, St. Mary of the Mount. The church was packed but they accommodated our families very well. The ceremony was simply beautiful and yes, I cried! It lasted a bit long but I love weddings so I didn't mind. Her new husband cried when he was reading his vows, it was so sweet! The reception is where it got crazy. From the Church, we had a minibus rental take us to one of Muer Seafood Restaurants for the reception. I'll tell you, the ride over was intense! I can only imagine what happened in the private limo, ha! I must say, the minibus was a great way to get from the Church to the reception. The driver was pretty funny, he told some great marriage jokes for us! He made sure we had everything we needed, which seemed above and beyond what he was there to do! Because of the minibus ride, I actually had a great conversation with one of the other bridesmaids and one of the groomsmen, don't ask!

The food was great, especially the shrimp. Lucky for me and the rest of the family no cost was spared. We ate and drank like kings that day! I really hope someone else gets married soon, like I mentioned, I love weddings! I have nothing to report on their honeymoon, which I assume is a good thing. They went to the Caribbean for their honeymoon, I'm jealous! Ironically enough, my company is taking us on an outing and guess what, they hired another minibus rental company! I'm excited about that because the experience with the minibus rental was great, so I assume it will be better with people I know from work!

Until next time, happy traveling!
